The peristaltic pump is recommended for use in sipper systems. It is a fixed- speed pump that can be reversed to return a sample to its container. You can operate the pump manually using a switch on the pump or you can also connect the pump to your spectrophotometer with a cable. With this cable connected, you can control the pump from your UV- Visible application software.

The manual sipper system uses the manually- activated peristaltic pump to move samples in and out of a flow cell for measurements. The automated sipper system uses the peristaltic pump controlled by your software through the spectrophotometer.

In operation, the sipper system quickly aspirates a liquid sample into a flow cell where it is measured and then returned or pumped to waste.
