The Buchi R-215 Rotavapor includes the Buchi B-490 Heating Bath. The Buchi R-215 is compact, easy-to-use, reliable, and safe, while also providing a complete solution for laboratory solvent evaporation through an integrated singular vacuum controller, vacuum pump, and recirculating chiller design.

The Buchi R-215 Rotavapor is a modular rotary evaporator designed to remove low boiling organic chemicals, from a mixture of compounds, most often solvents. Using simple distillation, the rotary evaporator is the method of choice for modern organic laboratories’ solvent removal needs. By heating the sample while in a vacuum to lower the boiling point, a cold finger condenses the vapors and trapping the liquid in a separate flask. The Buchi R-215 Rotavapor uses a durable, chemical-resistant PTFE/glass sealing system. The Buchi R-215 Rotavapor has a small footprint, 33% smaller than previous rotary evaporators, with a space-saving modular design that allows you to add integrated vacuum controllers.

 The R-215 Rotavapor has a digital vapor display and runs present time/pressure gradients. The rotary evaporator processes sample sizes from 50 mL to 3 L, in plastic and glass coated glassware. The quick-action servo jack is motorized to lift and lower glassware on the rotary evaporator effortlessly with the touch of a button. In the event of a power failure, the jack can be lifted manually. The Buchi R-215 Rotavapor uses a 5L insulated heating bath, designed to accommodate evaporating flasks between 50 and 300 mL and is lined with aluminum for temperature uniformity and coated with PTFE to resist corrosion. The B-490 heating water bath has a digital LED screen and has a temperature range from 20 to 180° C (68-356°F). This Buchi Rotavap accessory can be controlled through an LED screen that shows users real-time temperatures, and setpoints.  

The Buchi B-490 Heating Bath can accommodate evaporating flasks ranging in size from 50 to 3000mL, with an overall holding capacity of 5L. This heating bath can be adjusted from 20° to 180°C and has a temperature accuracy of + 1ºC, making it suitable for high/low boiling solvents. The Buchi B-490’s aluminum heating pan features a corrosion-resistant PTFE coating and, for added safety, an insulated outer wall and two overtemperature shutoffs. The water bath features a digital LED display, which shows real-time temperature and setpoint.

The Buchi Rotavapor System can be used for a multitude of applications from distilling solutions to medical marijuana sample extraction.
