Waters Alliance HT 2795 XE Separations Module with Column heater System

**Unit has been tested as far as we could, no known issues or errors expected. Has slight cosmetic blemishes from normal use. See photos for further details. Buyer can expect a working unit with a 30 day warranty.

The Waters 2795 XE Separations Module can be used for in-vitro diagnostic testing to analyze many compounds, including diagnostic indicators and therapeutically monitored compounds. When developing such methods, the Waters 2795 Separations Module integrates a solvent management system and a three-axis sample management system to provide high-throughput analysis for HPLC, LC/MS, or flow injection-mass spectrometry applications. As a stand-alone HPLC system controller, the 2795 Separations Module manages a variety of sample plates while controlling one or more detectors. Optionally, the 2795 Separations Module can also control a 3-column selection, 6-column selection, or column regeneration valve.

The 2795 Separations Module consists of:
• Three-axis (XYZ) sample management system
• HPLC solvent delivery system
• Five-channel inline vacuum degasser
• LCD display
• Keyboard
• Floppy disk drive (using 3.5-inch floppy disks)
• Column heater
• Column selection valve

Plate Carrier
The rotating sample plate carrier holds up to four plates. Plates must be5-inch × 3 3/8-inch (128 mm × 86 mm) with a height of up to 1.9 inches (48.2 mm). The plate carrier is locked into place under the X-Y field of operation. Each plate is dynamically held in position on the carrier by a plate-positioning spring that engages the plate as it moves into the sampling position.

Syringe Assembly
The syringe assembly, located behind a front panel door, uses a standard 500-µL syringe. As an option, you can install a 100-µL, 250-µL, 1000-µL, or 2500-µL
syringe. The standard configuration for the 2795 Separations Module consists of the 50-µL sample loop, the 500-µL syringe, and the 128-µL holding loop. This configuration provides good injection accuracy and repeatability for typical sample volumes (5 to 50 µL). When you want to optimize for a certain aspect of your chromatography (for example, volume repeatability, cycle time, or injection-volume accuracy), you can use other combinations of syringe.

Column heater Module and Selection Valves

The 2795 Separations Module Column Heater maintains the column at temperatures from 5 °C above ambient (minimum of 20 °C) to 60 °C. You can enable an alarm to warn you if the temperature varies outside the range, you specify and column selection valve allows you to switch the solvent flow to: One of several columns, a restrictor bypass to a mass spectrometer and Waste.  The column-selection valve is mounted in the 2795 Column Heater and is factory installed. The 2795 Separations Module has three column-selection valve options and Column regeneration. The 2795 Separations Module firmware automatically detects the presence and type of column selection valve at power on. You can specify column selection:

• Using the front panel
• Through the separation method
• As part of a function in the sample set method
The 2795 Separations Module Status screen shows the currently selected column or
flow path.

Three-Column Selection Valve
The 3-column selection valve allows you to select any of three column positions. The
3 column selection valve is preconfigured, but you can reconfigure it. The Column Regeneration valve allows you to perform LC operations using one column while the second column is undergoing regeneration by a second solvent delivery system.

Solvent Delivery and Solvent Conditioning

The 2795 Separations Module solvent management system blends and delivers solvents from the reservoir bottles to the sample management system in a pulse free, low-dispersion flow path. In addition, Synchronized Composition Control (SCC) of the gradient proportioning valve (GPV) ensures that the 2795 Separations Module delivers excellent gradient composition accuracy and precision. Solvent degassed by the inline vacuum degasser enters the gradient proportioning valve where the solvents are blended. Spill Protection All fluid-handling areas of the 2795 Separations Module have spill protection; spilled solvent is routed to waste line connectors below the front panel. A drip tray is provided for the top cover if you place a detector on top of the 2795 Separations Module. A solvent bottle tray provides storage for up to four 1-L solvent reservoirs and Record-Keeping Functions. The 2795 Separations Module automatically records:
• Total number of injections
• Total solvent usage (pumped through the system)
• System errors
• Programmed operating conditions for each run
• Column selection

Solvent Blending
The gradient proportioning valve (GPV) blends up to four solvents in any combination you choose. The GPV produces predictable gradient segments regardless of solvent
compressibility and system back-pressure. Solvent selection and proportioning take place on the low-pressure (intake) side of the solvent delivery system.
