The Biotek ELx800 absorbance microplate reader has a wavelength range of 400 to 750nm and uses optical density (OD) to detect biological or chemical properties of test samples used in clinical, biotechnological, and pharmaceutical applications. It has a 0 to 3 OD dynamic range with 0.001 OD resolution. The reader has a sample test capacity of six to 96 wells and performs end point, kinetic, and well-area scanning using wavelength-specific filters and 55 user-programmable protocols or Gen5 reader-control software. It has a 2-line 24-character LCD and includes cables for connection to a computer and printer. Optional Gen5 data-analysis software is sold separately. This absorbance microplate reader is European Conformity (CE) and Technical Inspection Association (TÜV) compliant for quality assurance and is suitable for use in clinical and life science laboratories in applications such as enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) assays, protein and nucleic acid quantification, and enzyme-activity assays.
